Cleaning up Our Community - Our February Hero!

Renfroe Outdoor, in conjunction with the Savannah Police Department, is proud to announce our newest honoree in the Savannah Heroes program! Each month, we will highlight a member of the local police force on our extensive digital billboard network for their outstanding work in serving and improving our communities.

This month we are proud to spotlight Officer Ryan Kasemeyer!

From the Savannah Police Department:

Officer Ryan Kasemeyer has been with Savannah Police Department since March 2019 and is currently working in patrol at the Northwest Precinct.

On Dec. 12, Officer Kasemeyer and his partner Officer Geraldine Simmons responded to a simple noise compliant, but their actions on that call resulted in the arrest of three subjects on narcotics and weapons charges. Because of their observance, officers were able to get search warrants for a residence that had a large amount of drugs and multiple weapons.

When the officers responded to the apartment on Benton Boulevard, they were met with several people who were involved in a loud verbal disagreement. While the door was open, the officers observed a large amount of marijuana packed in baggies ready for distribution.

The officers quickly secured the apartment and called for assistance from other units. After serving a search warrant, officers seized two handguns, an assault rifle, a .22 rifle, a 30-06 rifle, a large quantity of marijuana, more than 500 Xanax bars, bags of vacuum sealed THC gummies, sheets of THC wax, a money counting machine, scales and other items used in the distribution of illegal narcotics, and money.

The actions of Officer Kasemeyer during the incident have been commended by the department for the positive effect it will have on crime and narcotics distribution in the city.

About the initiative:

Renfroe Outdoor is proud to partner with the Savannah Police Department in an initiative to honor our local heroes. Each month, this program will highlight an outstanding officer in our community chosen by the Savannah PD and recognize them across town with our digital billboard network.

It is of the opinion of the management of Renfroe Outdoor that most media outlets are too eager to cover the wrong stories relating to the police. While all public officials should be held accountable for their actions, there are far more positives that can be said about the local police than the negative. With this program, Renfroe Outdoor hopes to help foster a growing positive relationship between our citizens and the men and women who put themselves in danger to protect them each day.
