Perseverance to See it Through - Our March Hero!

Updated: Apr 15, 2021

Renfroe Outdoor, in conjunction with the Savannah Police Department, is proud to announce our newest honoree in the Savannah Heroes program! Each month, we will highlight a member of the local police force on our extensive digital billboard network for their outstanding work in serving and improving our communities.

This month we are proud to spotlight APO Timothy McNeely!

From the Savannah Police Department:

Due to APO Timothy McNeely’s quick actions upon being called for a suspicious person in January, a suspect, who has been linked to multiple entering autos and could be connected to countless others, was arrested even after fleeing from officers. APO McNeely has been with the Savannah Police Department since December 2014 and is currently assigned to the Northwest Precinct.

On Jan. 31, a citizen called in a tip that an unknown man was attempting to unlawfully enter vehicles on Jefferson Street. APO McNeely quickly responded to the area and found a subject, who matched the description, running from the area. Although he could not catch up to the subject on foot, APO McNeely quickly coordinated with other officers to set up a perimeter while continuing to search for the suspect.

APO McNeely and a fellow officer began searching under residences where he could potentially be hiding and yelling out commands for him to come out. This led to the suspect attempting to flee from his hiding spot, resulting in his capture by police. During a canvas of the area, officers located several vehicles with smashed windows.

The suspect was charged with two counts of entering auto and seven counts of criminal attempt at entering auto. Detectives continue to follow up on the investigation to determine if the suspect is responsible for countless other incidents over the past one to two months in the area.

About the initiative:

Renfroe Outdoor is proud to partner with the Savannah Police Department in an initiative to honor our local heroes. Each month, this program will highlight an outstanding officer in our community chosen by the Savannah PD and recognize them across town with our digital billboard network.

It is of the opinion of the management of Renfroe Outdoor that most media outlets are too eager to cover the wrong stories relating to the police. While all public officials should be held accountable for their actions, there are far more positives that can be said about the local police than the negative. With this program, Renfroe Outdoor hopes to help foster a growing positive relationship between our citizens and the men and women who put themselves in danger to protect them each day.
